Diagnostic Value of Artificial Intelligence—Based Software in Detection of Large Vessel Occlusion in Acute Ischemic Stroke

چکیده
Background: Aim of the study was to test accuracy AI-based software for detection large vessel occlusion (LVO) with computed tomography angiography (CTA) in stroke patients using an experienced neuroradiologist’s evaluation as reference. Methods: Consecutive who underwent multimodal brain CT suspected acute ischemic were retrospectively identified. The presence and site (classified proximal distal) LVO assessed CTA by neuroradiologist a reference compared readings three medical students software, e-CTA. Results: One-hundred-eight participants mean age 70 years (±12.6); 55 (50.9%) females included. Neuroradiologist found (64.8%) cases: 45 (41.7%) proximal, 25 (23.1%) distal. overall sensitivity e-CTA 0.67 (95%CI 0.55–0.78); 0.84 0.71–0.94) 0.36 0.18–0.57) distal LVOs. Overall specificity 0.95 0.82–0.99) 0.77 0.68–0.84), respectively. student’s performance similar Conclusions: tested software’s is acceptable LVOs, while it appears be not accurate enough

Occurrence of intracranial large vessel occlusion in consecutive, non-referred patients with acute ischemic stroke
Background: The relative frequency of acute intracranial large vessel occlusion (LVO) in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) who could be candidate for intra-arterial treatment (IAT) is not well known. In this study, we determined clinical variables associated with LVO and the proportion of patients with LVO among patients presenting with AIS within 6 h of symptom onset. Methods: Data of ...
متن کاملdysphagia in acute ischemic stroke
Introduction: Swallowing dysfunction complicates acute strokes in 25-32% of cases and directly affects patientschr('39') prognosis and recovery. Dysphagia complicates the course of acute strokes through its potential of the development of chest infection, nutritional problems, and dehydration. Dysphagia is also an independent predictor of respiratory morbidity and mortality in acute stroke. In...
متن کاملSignificance of large vessel intracranial occlusion causing acute ischemic stroke and TIA.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Acute ischemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion (LVO)-vertebral, basilar, carotid terminus, middle and anterior cerebral arteries-likely portends a worse prognosis than stroke unassociated with LVO. Because little prospective angiographic data have been reported on a cohort of unselected patients with stroke and with transient ischemic attack, the clinical impact of L...
متن کاملO10: Thrombo-Inflammation in Acute Ischemic Stroke
Ischemic stroke has been classified as a merely thrombotic disease, so the main goal of its treatment is the recanalization of the occluded vasculature. However, despite fast restoration of blood circulation, progressive stroke still develops in many patients, which has led to the concept of reperfusion injury. The underlying mechanism is only partly known. Though, it is accepted now, tha...
